COURSE DESCRIPTION:

In Social 10-4 students will examine globalization, the process by which the world is becoming increasingly connected and interdependent. They will explore historical aspects of globalization, as well as the effects of globalization on lands, cultures, human rights and quality of life. The infusion of multiple perspectives will allow students to examine the effects of globalization on peoples in Canada and other locations, including the impact on Aboriginal and Francophone communities. Students will develop skills to respond to issues emerging in a globalizing world, with particular emphasis on local environments and situations. Students who successfully complete this course will move on to Social 20-4 in their Grade 11 year.
