Painting Advanced Techniques

Provides the opportunity to engage in extended exploration of painting as students develop specific technical abilities in both traditional and non-traditional painting approaches. Students will develop mastery of the painting process through the study of artistic observation, colour, painting methods, brush techniques, art history, and the elements of art and will have the opportunity to use their imagination to create original paintings in order to express themselves for a variety of audiences and purposes. Working in a variety of materials, students are provided with an extensive studio practice and portfolio creation; this course provides preparation for post-secondary study and careers in visual arts, graphic design, industrial design, architecture and interior design.
