Contemporary Music Ensemble 30

This course is an extension of the Chamber Ensembles 15,25,35 program. It is open to students with previous experience in electric guitar, acoustic guitar, electric bass, keyboard, drums, brass or woodwind instruments, vocals, and sound mixing/engineering. Students in Contemporary Music Ensemble will be introduced to the art of composition, arranging and improvisation with an emphasis on the music styles of the last 50 years, which may include pop, rock, R&B, funk, and other popular music styles. The course will also foster collaboration and communication among peers in a modern band setting while encouraging each band to perform cohesively as a single unit.
