COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Advanced students continue to build upon the different skills acquired in the Introductory and Intermediate classes where they will explore different types of building techniques to produce a project or project component. Advanced level courses refine expertise and help prepare students for entry into the workplace or a related post-secondary program. This class examines both fine woodworking practices and rough framing. Students research and design their own project to better understand the components of design, wood joinery, and applications. This course also includes simple framing methods, where students explore roof construction, doors installation, floorcoverings and trim, and stair layout. The majority of the class time will be spent on hands-on activities. *At higher levels of study, an additional cost will be needed to cover personal project.
