Construction 20 (5cr)

Students learn basic skills in different aspects of Cabinetmaking and Framing Construction to provide a broader perspective, helping students recognize the wide range of related career opportunities. Intermediate students build upon the different skills and competencies acquired in Introductory and explore different types of building materials to produce a project or project component. This class examines both fine woodworking practices and rough framing through components of design, wood characteristics, simple floor and wall framing, wood joinery, and types of finishes. The majority of the class time will be spent on hands-on activities developing the skills necessary at higher levels of Construction classes. *At higher levels of study, an additional cost will be needed to cover personal project.
