WHAT IS THE IB PROGRAM?

The International Baccalaureate or “IB” program is a specialized sequence of courses which are centred upon the principles of critical thinking & collaboration. 

While the IB curriculum covers a similar range of topics as the Alberta curriculum, IB is largely considered to be more rigorous (think quality over quantity). This allows students to develop an in-depth understanding of topics they are interested in. 

The IB curriculum also focuses on practical work & skills, engaging students in meaningful assessments. Think: more projects, labs, presentations, research, interdisciplinary studies, and written work than typical classes.
